Job summary

Rahway Public Schools is seeking a dedicated facilities custodian to perform cleaning, maintenance, and custodial support in school facilities. Under supervision, you will help keep buildings and grounds in good condition and assist staff as needed.

The role requires a Black Seal boiler certification (low pressure), a valid NJ driver’s license, and good health to perform heavy lifting and outdoor work. This is a full-time, 12-month position within the district.

• Performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition.
• Provides cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary; performs related duties and general maintenance as required.

As per the negotiated agreement, Step 1 $ 42,536

Minimum Requirements:

Position Function:

Under the direct supervision of the Principal, Director of Facilities, and Business Manager, performs general cleaning and maintenance in school buildings and grounds; maintains equipment in functional condition; and provides cleaning and custodial assistance to students, teachers, visitors and others as necessary.

Performs related duties and general maintenance work as required.
