Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a Custodial Support Specialist for the second shift (2:30pm - 11:00pm) across multiple locations in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role focuses on staff onboarding, coaching, and operational audits to maintain high sanitation standards district-wide.

The Specialist will develop SOPs, monitor budget-efficient practices, and ensure proper use of cleaning equipment while supporting a safe and compliant work environment.

Qualifications

• 35 years of progressive commercial or institutional custodial experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficient in institutional chemical safety, cleaning standards, and complex floor-care machinery operation and instructional demonstration techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook for reporting and data management.

Responsibilities

• Onboard and coach staff to meet performance and cleanliness standards.
• Provide retraining to help staff reach SOPs and quality targets.
• Demonstrate safe use of chemicals, PPE, and custodial equipment.
• Lead evening operations with hands-on coaching for efficiency and technique.
• Serve as contact for facility emergencies during second shift.
