Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) is seeking a Mental Health Specialist II for the Emergency Screening unit in Piscataway, NJ. The per diem position involves handling telephone inquiries, triage, and direct patient care in the Acute Psychiatric Services (APS) setting, with confidentiality and documentation responsibilities throughout the shift.

Under supervision, you will document calls, refer cases to clinicians, and maintain records while ensuring a professional environment.

Qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field or a bachelor’s degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field.

Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls from consumers and document them in EMR or log.
• Refer calls to clinician as directed by Program Coordinator.
• Conduct initial triage of consumers arriving onsite and provide immediate report.
• Provide direct care for individuals in the ECEB.
• Maintain client records in a timely manner and uphold confidentiality.
