Job summary

Mental Health Resource Center, Inc. in Jacksonville seeks an Emergency Services professional to support children, adolescents, and adults with crisis evaluations in a busy behavioral health setting.

You will conduct emergency screenings, coordinate transfers, and work with insurers for authorizations while documenting clearly. A Bachelor’s or Master’s in a related field with relevant experience is required. The role includes full-time evening shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field plus one year experience with chronically mentally ill population.
• Ability to make sound independent decisions daily, including emergencies and life-threatening situations.
• Strong communication with families, caregivers, providers, and staff is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, and Internet usage required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct emergency mental health screenings for those entering the facility.
• Evaluate and assess crisis calls and walk-ins using Baker Act criteria and DSM-5 standards.
• Provide Crisis Intervention.
• Coordinate patient transfers to community hospitals.
• Coordinate with insurers to obtain pre-certifications and authorizations.
• Complete required documentation and reporting.
