Job summary

Candidate Experience site in Reading, PA seeks a Second Shift County Case Worker II to investigate suspected abuse, provide protective and supportive services, prepare court documents, and collaborate with community partners. The role supports the Emergency Duty function and manages a small caseload while rotating weeknights and on-call weekends.

The position requires a relevant degree or equivalent experience, bilingual capabilities are a plus, and the successful candidate will attend trainings

Qualifications

• Knowledge of social case management principles and methods.
• Understanding of social, economic, and health problems and resources.
• Ability to work with adults and children facing social and economic challenges.
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing agency services.
• Ability to document case activity accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Obtains information from clients and families to identify problems and link them to services.
• Provides casework and counseling to help clients adjust to their situations.
• Provides protective and supportive services for abused or neglected individuals.
• Prepares documents and testifies in court according to procedure.
• Identifies community resources and links clients to them, advocating on their behalf.
• Works with social agencies, hospitals, clinics, and courts to coordinate services.
• Teaches family budgeting, housing, and parenting skills as required.
• Interprets agency policy and participates in staff meetings.
