Qualifications

• One year of experience as a County Caseworker I or satisfactory PER and supervisory approval.
• Successful completion of County Social Casework Intern Program with approval and PER.
• A bachelor’s degree in a social welfare major or equivalent coursework and experience.
• Valid PA driver’s license and reliable daily transportation.

Responsibilities

• Gather information from clients and families to identify problems and link to services.
• Provide casework and counseling to help clients achieve better adjustment.
• Provide protective and supportive services for abused or neglected individuals.
• Prepare court documents and provide testimony per agency procedures.
• Develop service plans and continually assess and revise them to meet goals.
• Refer clients to community resources and advocate on their behalf.
• Interrelate with social agencies, hospitals, courts, and other resources.
