Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join the Core Lab at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time evening shift, 12:30pm–9:00pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The role requires licensure as a Medical Technologist in Florida and experience in chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology, and some serology. You’ll work with Beckman instruments and automation, supervising MLTs and possibly instructing students.

Qualifications

• 2 years Medical Technologist experience.
• Must be licensed as a Medical Technologist in the State of Florida.
• Experience in chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, and some serology.
• Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen processing, LIS, department and clerical functions.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in SOP manuals.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and act as Charge Technologist in absences.
• Instruct new employees and students as needed.
