Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for the Core Lab on the evening shift. This full-time role requires strong chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology and serology skills, working with Beckman instruments and a team of 7–8 MTs and 4 specimen processors.

The position emphasizes supervision, education of staff, and adherence to SOPs in a busy hospital lab setting. Florida licensure is required or eligible.

Qualifications

• 2 years Medical Technologist experience.
• Licensed Medical Technologist required in Florida.
• State license or eligible per Florida rules.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen processing, LIS and clerical duties in laboratory areas.
• Keep performance records per SOP; may work without supervision.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and act as Charge Technologist in absences.
• Instruct new employees and students as needed.
