Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital seeks a Medical Lab Scientist for the Core Lab on a weekend evening shift. The role is part-time, with duties including accurate test performance, documentation, and equipment maintenance across shifts.

A bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related sciences is required, with MLS/MT certification expected within six months of hire. Experience from clinical rotations is preferred, and applicants should be prepared to rotate holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, medical laboratory science, or related sciences with medical laboratory training.
• Medical Laboratory skills obtained through clinical rotations or training.
• Medical Laboratory work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute prompt, accurate performance and reporting of lab results used for prognosis, diagnosis, or research.
• Document and maintain quality control and compliance records.
• Maintain and inventory lab equipment; participate in quality initiatives.
• Support lab operations across assigned shifts and ensure timely results.
• Assist with set-up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment under guidance.
• Prepare and document procedures and updates reflecting current practices.
