Job summary

Settlers Ridge Care Center in Celina, TX seeks an Evening Cook to prepare meals according to menus and dietary specifications, supervise serving, and help maintain clean, sanitary kitchen operations. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing quality patient and resident care and support services.

Responsibilities include safe food handling, recipe execution, portion control, and communicating with staff and supervisors to ensure timely meal production.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
• Food handlers’ card required, or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Must have fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Understands and follows guidelines for food handling and storage.
• Tests and records temperatures of hot and cold foods; corrects negative results to supervisor.
• Properly discards expired or contaminated food times.
• Performs daily and scheduled cleaning of kitchen and equipment.
