Job summary

Michigan State University is seeking an Evening Conference Coordinator to support the Management Education Center in Troy, MI. This on-call/temporary role covers 3pm–11pm shifts with weekend work as needed, focusing on customer service and technical setup for conferences and events.

Responsibilities include room setup, AV operations, and coordinating with clients. The position offers flexible hours (15–35 per week) and requires physical tasks such as lifting tables and AV gear.

Qualifications

• Provide excellent customer service at events and conferences.
• Able to read and interpret Banquet Event Orders.
• Safely set up and arrange conference room furniture and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with MEC clients and staff to facilitate events.
• Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders and implement requirements.
• Physically set up tables, chairs, and equipment for classes and events.
• Operate AV equipment and videoconferencing tools (Zoom, MS Teams).
• Monitor room climate, lighting, and technical systems during events.
• Handle daily administrative tasks and light cleaning as needed.
