Job summary

Washington Department of Enterprise Services in Washington state is seeking a production printing operator to manage high-speed color and B/W presses, load paper, and produce time-sensitive documents for state agencies. You will perform routine diagnostics and basic maintenance to keep devices running.

You will oversee the cost-recovery model and customer satisfaction, supporting a Digital Print Production environment with pre/post processing equipment, unwinders, cutters, binders, and stackers

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of experience operating high-speed production equipment.
• One (1) year experience operating continuous-feed digital printing equipment, unwinders, folders, slit/mergers and cutter/trimmer/stacker system.
• Must obtain and maintain certification for forklift, electric pallet jack, and clamp truck within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Color Digital and B/W printing equipment and pre/post processing devices to print time-sensitive documents.
• Receive, modify, set up, configure print files and produce high quality output on high-speed presses.
• Perform routine maintenance such as diagnostics, tests, toner/consumables replacement.
• Maintain pre/post processing devices (unwinder, perforator, cutter, booklet maker, stacker) and extraction vacuum.
• Interpret job tickets and ensure job specifications are met.
• Follow safety requirements in operation of equipment.
• Locate paper stock and loading supplies; operate clamp truck, pallet jack, and forklift as needed.
• Prepare printed jobs for pickup and distribution; replace recycle bins as needed.
