Job summary

The State of Washington's Department of Enterprise Services is seeking a printing production operator to produce time-sensitive documents for state agencies, using color digital and B/W printers and related post-processing equipment. You will manage setup, file preparation, and output quality while maintaining cost-recovery and safety standards.

Responsibilities include operating high-speed printers, performing diagnostics, replacing consumables, and ensuring job tickets are followed.

Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience operating high-speed production equipment.
One (1) year experience operating continuous-feed digital printing equipment and related systems.
Must obtain forklift, electric pallet jack, and clamp truck certification within six months.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate color digital and black/white printing equipment and post-processing devices.
Receive, modify, set up, and print files to produce high-quality outputs.
Perform routine printer diagnostics, replace consumables, and conduct maintenance.
Maintain pre/post processing devices and handling equipment like unwinders and cutters.
Interpret job tickets and ensure specifications are met; apply image enhancement and pagination as needed.
Follow safety guidelines for all printing equipment and materials.
