Job summary

Rice Lake Weighing Systems is seeking a skilled CNC Set-Up Machinist to join our 2nd shift team in Rice Lake, WI. You will set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes, verify part accuracy with precision gauges, and collaborate with engineers to optimize processes.

The ideal candidate has an AA degree in machine tools or 4+ years of shop experience, strong math and blueprint-reading skills, and a proven ability to work safely and efficiently in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications

AA Degree in Machine Tool or a related field.
Or, Four (4) or more year’s machine shop experience.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC machines to fabricate parts.
Study blueprints, sketches and specs to determine dimensions and tolerances.
Measure and mark dimensions for machining.
Select and secure fixtures, tools and attachments on mills, lathes, grinders.
Control machining factors (speed, feed, coolant) and enter program data as needed.
Observe machines for malfunctions and adjust controls.
Verify finished parts against specifications with precision tools.
Set up and run trials to verify accuracy of settings.
Assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, and hand tools.
Develop specifications from general descriptions and create sketches when needed.
Coordinate with engineers to resolve machining issues.
