Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Set Up Operator for our Aurora, IL facility. The role involves setting up and operating CNC and other fabrication equipment, performing die changes, and ensuring material usage is tracked accurately.

You will read engineering blueprints, measure parts with precision tools, and adhere to safety protocols in a loud, unionized production floor. The shift runs 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machinery in a heavy manufacturing setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on fabrication experience.
• Ability to read engineering blueprints and bills of material.
• Proficiency with hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Good organizational and teamwork skills; able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate industrial and fabrication equipment, including CNC machinery.
• Perform die changeovers to support production schedules.
• Monitor raw material usage and ensure inventory accuracy.
• Read blueprints and BOMs to perform accurate setups and runs.
• Use micrometers/calipers to verify part dimensions.
