Job summary

Thorlabs in Newton, NJ is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate CNC machines and assist with inspection of components in accordance with inch and metric drawings.

The role requires 1-2 years of related experience, a High School diploma or equivalent (CNC certification a major plus), and strong blueprint reading and computer skills. The position offers hourly compensation between $20.00 and $28.00 with shift differential and a supportive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar position; CNC programming training preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; CNC certification or CNC Trade School a major plus.
• General understanding of blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing is a plus.
• Strong sense of ownership, good written and verbal communication, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines in accordance with inch and metric drawings.
• Inspect machined components for accuracy against drawings.
• May operate manual mills, lathes, and other secondary equipment as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area; perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines.
• Adhere to company policies and quality standards; meet production targets.
