Job summary

Thorlabs, a leader in photonics components and systems, is seeking an CNC Operator in Newton, NJ. You will run CNC machines to exacting inch and metric drawings and inspect parts for conformance, while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of experience (or CNC training) and strong blueprint reading skills. The role may require occasional duties at other Thorlabs locations. Hourly pay and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Requires 1–2 years in a similar role or equivalent training.
• High school diploma or equivalent; CNC training a major plus.
• Basic blueprint reading and geometric tolerancing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines following inch and metric drawings.
• Inspect machined parts for accuracy against drawings.
• Operate manual mills, lathes, and secondary equipment as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance of CNC machines.
