Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society is hiring a Nursing Assistant (NA) to provide compassionate, resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. Under the supervision of an RN, you will assist with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and support a safe, clean environment for residents at the Desmet, SD facility.

This full-time evening shift includes benefits, a sign-on bonus, and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED preferred.
Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by training/enrollment in a program.
Annual continuing education minimum 12 hours; maintain department-specific certifications.
Possible Sanford Category II Driver status with license and driving policy compliance.

Responsibilities

Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
Record vital signs and document resident interactions and care outcomes.
Assist with transferring, repositioning, and ambulation using proper techniques.
Assist with meals, hydration, and dining experiences; monitor nutrition and supplements.
Support wellness and recreational activities and assist with related documentation.
