Job summary

Palolo Chinese Home in Hawai‘i provides long-term care with compassion for seniors of all backgrounds. The CNA role assists residents with daily living tasks, administers medications under supervision, and supports mobility and comfort within a respectful, dignity-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR, First Aid and Hawaii CNA certification.
• At least 1 year experience in long term care preferred.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to provide physical and emotional care to the aged and disabled.
• Demonstrates autonomy, organization, flexibility and cooperation.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and documents administration, effectiveness, and any adverse reactions.
• Observes residents and reports changes in condition or adverse findings to the nurse or physician.
• Stores and orders medications and supplies according to policies.
• Arrives on time and participates in shift handoff.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing).
• Makes beds and maintains resident rooms.
• Assists with meals and monitors food and fluid intake.
• Provides mobility assistance and transfers.
• Follows infection-control and safety procedures.
• Documents care provided and respects resident confidentiality.
• Attends required training and maintains health clearances.
