Job summary

Sanford Health in Omaha is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide resident-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will support daily living activities under the supervision of a registered nurse and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board, or in process within four months of date into the position.
• Maintains yearly department competency testing and continuing education credits.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver requiring a valid license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance as per care plan under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and feeding as needed.
• Obtain and record vital signs and provide psychosocial support to residents.
• Assist with transferring, repositioning and walking using proper techniques.
• Document resident interactions, changes in condition and care outcomes; communicate with charge nurse.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry support to maintain clean, functional living areas.
