Job summary

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is seeking a Nursing Assistant for our long-term care residents. This Evening shift position provides patient-centered care under RN supervision and supports daily living activities, including meal assistance and vital signs documentation.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position; CNA training and certification provided by facility.
• Yearly department-specific competency testing; minimum 12 hours continuing education annually; maintain all required certifications.
• UAP Registry certification where applicable by state law.
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with driving license requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under RN supervision.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing and other personal care.
• Record vital signs and document resident interactions and care outcomes.
• Assist residents with transfers, repositioning, walking, meals and hydration; participate in recreational activities.
• Maintain infection prevention and PPE practices as per policies.
