Job summary

The Good Samaritan Society in Algona, IA is seeking a Part Time Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.

Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications, recording vital signs, assisting with meals, helping residents with bathing and mobility, and documenting outcomes per plan of care. Evening shift, every other weekend, 16 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• CNA certification as required by state practice.
• Minimum age 18; prior long-term care experience preferred.
• Successful completion of state-required competency testing and continuous education.
• Must obtain CMA/TMA certification where applicable.
• Ability to work evenings and every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance.
• Administer prescribed medications per plan and document outcomes.
• Record vital signs and assist with meals, bathing, grooming and mobility.
• Communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse and coordinate care.
• Support wellness activities and maintain clean, safe living areas.
