Job summary

North Greenville University’s Hester Memorial Library is seeking a Part-Time Library Assistant to provide general library service to patrons at Tigerville Campus. The role supports the Circulation desk and may assist in Reference, Archives, or Curriculum Lab under supervision.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the library, shelving, answering questions, checking materials in/out, and helping with special projects. High School graduates with library experience are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High School graduate with some library experience.
• Ability to make beginning level clerical decisions.
• Ability to listen, verbally communicate, and assist people.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Ability to establish effective working relationships with others.
• Support NGU’s mission and Christian values.

Responsibilities

• Provides circulation desk service and assists patrons with locating books.
• Opens/closes library and answers general questions.
• Shelves materials and conducts shelf reading to maintain order.
• Substitutes for full-time Circulation Assistant as needed.
• Assists in Reference, Archives, or Curriculum Lab when required.
• Works on special projects and follows supervisor instructions.
• Reports to the Reference Librarian.
