Job summary

Greenbrier Senior Living in Vestavia Hills, AL, is seeking a compassionate Caregiver for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:00 PM). You will help residents stay comfortable, safe, and engaged while supporting independence in a warm senior living community.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, following care plans, monitoring health, aiding transfers, and collaborating with the nursing team to ensure an exceptional resident experience. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CNA certification preferred but not required unless required by applicable regulations.
• CPR and First Aid certification as required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and perform the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, and toileting.
• Follow each resident's individualized service plan and provide personalized care.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the nursing supervisor.
• Assist residents with transfers, mobility, and ambulation using proper techniques.
• Provide reminders, redirection, encouragement, and emotional support.
• Help residents get to meals, activities, programs, and other areas of the community.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and requests for assistance.
• Check and record vital signs, weights, and other information as assigned and permitted by state regulations.
• Document resident care and observations throughout the shift.
• Work closely with nursing and other team members to provide an exceptional resident experience.
