Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, IA is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee direct support staff and shift operations in a group home setting that serves children and young adults with special healthcare needs. You will contribute to hiring, training, and hands-on care in a 24-hour environment.

The role requires an associate degree in human services or related fields, supervisory experience, and the ability to lift 35 lbs. Driving eligibility is necessary to support operations across shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in human services, early childhood, or child development (or equivalent experience).
• At least 1 year in ICF/DD or working with children; supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong English communication; ability to lift 35 lbs; must be eligible to drive for ChildServe.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support staff by managing hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations; ensure documentation; maintain staffing levels; oversee timecard processes.
• Oversee resident care by ensuring care plans and daily routines are followed and healthcare needs are met.
• Attend care meetings, manage supplies/equipment and maintain required certifications such as CMA and Chauffeur’s License.
