Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, Iowa is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist children and young adults with daily living skills. This role involves working with a team to support personal care, community involvement, and life skill development.

Ideal candidates will be 18 years or older, possess effective communication skills, and preferably have experience working with individuals with disabilities. A variety of full-time and part-time schedules are available, along with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous work with children or adults with disabilities preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness and ability to become an approved driver for Child Serve.
• Certifications such as CMA, Medication Manager, or CNA are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support children or young adults in developing independence.
• Provide transportation assistance as needed.
• Administer treatments and medications as appropriate.
• Facilitate community involvement through recreational events and activities.
