Job summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking an Evening Campus Recreation Coordinator to support Johnson Recreation Center operations, manage student staff, and uphold safety standards. The role requires afternoon/evening hours, including weekends, with a 1:00pm-10:00pm schedule and flexible weekend hours.

Responsibilities include staff recruitment and evaluation, training program development, incident reporting, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
• Completed degrees higher than minimum may substitute for experience.
• Ability to work afternoon/evening hours and weekends.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in university recreation and supervising student employees.
• Demonstrated customer service experience; familiarity with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Johnson recreation center and monitor evening operations.
• Recruit, hire, orient, supervise, and evaluate student employees.
• Develop training programs and deliver ongoing training opportunities.
• Enforce rules for patron safety and respond to emergencies; CPR/AED within 6 months.
