New Mexico Highlands University is seeking Recreation Aides to provide front-line support in the university fitness center, ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. You will assist with daily operations, customer service, and equipment oversight.

Responsibilities include greeting patrons, enforcing policies, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with opening/closing. This part-time role requires evening and weekend availability and involves lifting up to 100 lbs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an NMHU Student.
• First Aid and CPR/AED verification or willingness to becomecertified.
• Defensive Driving Certification or willingness to becomecertified.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lift and move fitness equipment (up to 100 lbs)

Responsabilités

• Greet and assist patrons; check IDs and enforce facility policies
• Monitor fitness areas to ensure safe and appropriate use of equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fitness center
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Safely lift, move, transport, and set up fitness center equipment as required
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and report equipment issues as needed
• Support special events, intramural sports, and general recreation operations
• Assist with driving responsibilities and campus recreation excursions as needed
• Follow all NMHU policies, safety procedures, and risk management protocols and other duties as assigned.
