Job summary

The University of Oregon is seeking a Coordinator of Operations for the Department of Physical Education and Recreation in Eugene. You will lead operations for the Student Recreation Center and related facilities, supervise about 50 student employees, manage budgets, and promote programs while ensuring top customer service and safety standards.

Evening/weekend hours may be required; CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration/Management, Leisure Studies, Sports Management, Business or related field.
• One year of experience leading and managing staff or a work team.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds in support of an inclusive and welcoming environment - including co-workers, faculty, students and community members.
• Ability to provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to coordinate and implement employee training programs.
• Ability to lead the work of others, balancing support, coaching and accountability.
• Strong skills in organization, project management, written and oral communication.
• Ability to manage the frontline functions in retail or service environments.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment while navigating shifting priorities and unexpected challenges with composure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing and supervision of approximately 50 Operation Attendant student employees.
• Assist in managing the Operations program budget and marketing of programs and services.
• Contribute to review and enforcement of policies for facility operations including access.
• Serve as first point of contact for patrons and ensure high customer service standards.
• Evening and weekend hours may be required; additional hours during peak periods.
