Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Campus Police Sergeant to supervise a squad, respond to emergencies, and oversee police operations during the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM shift at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore. This is a full-time, non-exempt security position with responsibilities including payroll oversight and training coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or graduation equivalen t required.
• Minimum of three years of law enforcement or related experience.
• Must possess a valid U.S. motor vehicle driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record (no more than two points).
• Additional education may substitute for required experience as per JHU policy.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a squad of campus security officers during the shift.
• Respond to emergency situations or incidents requiring supervisor presence.
• Account for attendance, payroll, and scheduling leave.
• Schedule training and ensure all personnel are up-to-date on procedures.
• Ensure staff perform duties per SOP and policies.
• Supervise any Baltimore Police Department officers on shift.
• Notify the Director of Campus Security of incidents per SOP.
• Investigate complaints against officers under supervision.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Campus Security.
