Job summary

Peabody Institute seeks a Campus Police Sergeant to supervise a squad of campus security officers and oversee police functions during the 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM evening shift. The role requires coordinating responses, payroll and scheduling, and ensuring SOP compliance across the Campus Security Department.

The Sergeant will also supervise Baltimore Police Department officers on duty and coordinate with the Director of Campus Security, while investigating complaints and performing other duties as

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of basic first aid and CPR.
• Ability to write clear, accurate reports.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to react professionally and maintain composure.
• Must meet Maryland State Police requirements for a Special Police Commission.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a squad of campus security officers during the shift.
• Respond to emergencies or incidents requiring a supervisor.
• Account for attendance, payroll, and scheduling leave.
• Schedule training and ensure staff are updated on SOPs.
• Supervise officers and external police personnel during shifts.
• Notify the Director of Campus Security and other departments as required.
• Investigate complaints against officers under supervision.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Director of Campus Security.
