Job summary

Rhode Island College is seeking a part-time Housekeeper to perform custodial and basic maintenance tasks across university facilities. The role includes cleaning floors, restrooms, offices, classrooms, residence halls, and athletic spaces, with duties such as stocking supplies and setting up rooms for events.

The position is 19 hours per week, evenings, Monday through Thursday and Friday evenings, on-site in Providence, RI.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of equipment, materials and methods used in custodial work.
• Ability to understand and carry out simple directions.
• Safety awareness and reporting of maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, restrooms, offices, classrooms, and common areas to required standards.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Restock supplies and set up rooms for events.
• Operate custodial equipment and report safety concerns.
• Assist with snow removal and grounds-related tasks as needed.
