Job summary

Waubonsee Community College is hiring a part-time Custodian for the Aurora Downtown Campus to support daily operations. The role reports to Shift Lead Custodian and Facilities leadership, and focuses on maintaining cleanliness and safety across campus interiors.

Typical schedule includes Tue-Thu 5:30-10:30pm, Fri 2-7pm, Sat 9-2, totaling 25 hours weekly. Requires a high school diploma, ability to lift 35 pounds, and effective communication.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Physical ability to lift 35 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work well independently.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain cleanliness of facilities on campus to present a positive image.
• Inspect and monitor assigned buildings for cleanliness, restock restrooms, and handle minor emergencies.
• Clean interior glass surfaces at least twice a month or as required.
• Assist in furniture moving or set-ups as directed.
• Monitor custodial supply inventory and request additional stock as required.
• Identify and report maintenance problems to the Shift Lead Custodian or supervisors.
• Snow removal as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
