Qualifications

• Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or medical laboratory science with four (4) years of laboratory training or experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science with two (2) years of laboratory training or experience.
• Foreign educated candidates must provide a credential evaluation from IERF or other recognized agency.
• For certain specialty disciplines where no certification is available, a bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties of MLT/MLS duties at a high level of competency and provides onsite supervision in the absence of the supervisor.
• Monitors quality control and documentation to meet accrediting/licensing standards; supports QA policies and continuous quality improvement programs.
• Participates in improving department efficiency, cost analysis, and financial performance.
• Assists with personnel oversight, training, coaching, and competency assessments; supports staff development and competency programs.
• Coordinates special projects and serves as a communication liaison for on-site/system issues; fosters teamwork and customer service.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication.

Education

Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or medical laboratory science with four years of laboratory training or experience

Bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science with two years of laboratory training or experience

Foreign credential evaluation (IERF or equivalent)

Bachelor’s degree with two years experience for certain specialty disciplines (Toxicology, HLA, HCTT, etc.)
