Job summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is seeking an Associate Instructor for the Evening Barbering Program at our Clarksville Campus. This full‑time position focuses on both theory and hands-on barbering instruction, delivering a complete, progressive course with detailed lesson plans and student assessments.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, Barbering or Cosmetology instructor licensure, and at least three years of related experience.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical barbering diploma preferred.
Active Barbering Instructor license OR active Cosmetology Instructor license with willingness to obtain Barbering Instructor license.
Minimum of three years of full-time Barbering experience with instructor license OR Cosmetologist with instructor license OR Master Barber with ability to obtain instructor license.

Responsibilities

Provide individualized theory and hands-on instruction in barbering.
Develop and implement a progressive course of study with lesson plans and instructional aids.
Monitor and evaluate student progress and maintain records.
Assist with recruitment, placement, and follow-up of students.
Maintain good relations with industry and advisory committees.
In-person instruction, Monday–Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; class 2:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
