Job summary

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology - Dickson is seeking an Associate Instructor for the Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program on the Dickson Campus. This full-time, in-person role includes theory and hands-on instruction, student assessment, and curriculum development alongside another instructor.

Candidates should have a technical diploma or associate degree with HVAC/R experience, EPA 608 Universal and NC3 certifications, and a commitment to ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Must have strong instructional background and ability to teach HVAC/R theory and hands-on topics.
• Must maintain certifications and program accreditation(s).
• Must possess computer skills and be able to use student records software.
• Must be able to establish and maintain relationships with students, staff and industry.
• Experience teaching is a plus.
• Willingness to perform administrative duties accurately and timely.
• Good time management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized theory and hands-on instruction to high school and adult students.
• Monitor, grade and document student progress; maintain records.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans and curriculum; assist in recruitment and placement of graduates.
• Maintain public relations with business and industry; cooperate with outside agencies.
• Supervise students in cooperative education; travel as required.
• Deliver all instruction in-person; work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
