Job summary

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital seeks an Assistant Assessment and Referral Director to lead psychiatric assessment and admissions for the evening shift. You will collect data from inquiries and assessments, input into the Health Management system, and assist in coordinating admissions with the Director of Assessment and Referral.

Required is a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field, with 2+ years clinical psychiatric experience and at least 1 year in management.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Social Work or related field.
• Minimum 2 years clinical practice in psychiatric/mental health settings.
• At least 1 year of management/leadership experience.
• Experience in assessment, referral, treatment planning and external reviews.

Responsibilities

• Directs the response to requests for services by phone and in person, including initial response, assessment/referral process, level of care designation, admission initiation, and follow-up.
• Completes a patient interview according to policy.
• Documents patient information.
• Review the effectiveness of the initial interface with external reviewers.
• Maintain active involvement with patient admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Share on-call responsibilities with the Director of Admissions.
• Provide initial evaluation and initiate assessment, documenting symptoms/functioning/needs.
• Staff each assessment with appropriate physician, documenting recommendations and diagnoses.
• In the absence of the Director, facilitate daily Access meetings and coordinate intake information.
• May perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
