Job summary

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital in Fort Washington, PA seeks an Assistant Assessment and Referral Director to lead evening assessments, coordinate admissions, and supervise the Assessment and Referral Psychiatric Assessment Team. You will collect data from inquiry calls and input into the Health Management system, aiding admissions with the Director.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field.
• Minimum of two years in direct clinical practice in psychiatric/mental health/chemical dependency settings with at least one year of management experience.
• Experience in patient assessment, referral, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations; CPR and CPI within 90 days; knowledge of Joint Commission/OSHA/regulatory requirements; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Directs response to requests for services by phone and in person, including initial response, assessment/referral process, level of care designation, and admission initiation.
• Completes patient interviews according to policy and documents patient information.
• Reviews effectiveness of initial interface with external reviewers.
• Maintains active involvement and awareness of all admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Shares on-call responsibilities with the Director of Admissions.
• Provides initial evaluation and initiates assessment, documenting symptoms and needs.
• Staffs each assessment with appropriate physician, documenting recommendations and diagnoses.
• Facilitates daily Access meeting in Director's absence; reports intake Calls and evaluations; delegates responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
