Job summary

Charles River Laboratories Kansas site is seeking a Technician II - Second Shift to support our safety assessment workflow. You will learn basic study techniques, animal husbandry, handling, dosing, data collection, and sample collection under GLP standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 6 months of animal laboratory experience, and ALAT preferred. Strong communication and computer skills are essential, with a commitment to animal welfare and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience: At least 6 months of animal laboratory and/or relevant species handling experience.
• Certification/Licensure: ALAT preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities to achieve goals.
• Computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Ability to ensure safety procedures and proper protective equipment are used.
• Ability to adhere to GLP, SOPs, BOP and IACUC rules.

Responsibilities

• Ensure humane care for all animals and use gentle handling.
• Perform basic animal husbandry, housing maintenance and feeding procedures; collect data and weigh animals.
• Collect, document, review, and verify data in forms or electronic systems.
• Review documentation for quality control requirements.
• Use and maintain instrumentation and equipment.
• Learn basic Clinical Pathology and Necropsy functions.
