Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Technician II on the Second Shift for our Kansas site. The role involves learning and performing foundational lab tasks, ensuring animal welfare, data collection, dosing, and specimen handling to support preclinical studies.

The position requires basic lab skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work a 3:00 PM–11:30 PM schedule with potential for additional shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 6 months of animal laboratory experience or species handling.
• ALAT certification preferred; good communication skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure humane care and welfare of animals and proper handling.
• Perform housing maintenance, feeding, data collection and weight checks.
• Administer doses by various methods and assist with necropsy as needed.
• Document data accurately and support quality control requirements.
• Learn basic Clinical Pathology and related procedures.
