Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring for a full-time Lab Registrar at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center - Lab: Operating Room Pathology in Winston-Salem. The shift runs 12:00pm to 8:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break, totaling 40 hours per week on the Winston Campus.

The role handles accessioning and preparation of pathology specimens, data entry into LIS, and strong customer service. Proven ability to work independently and maintain data accuracy is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Lab tech or equivalent clinical experience with two years anatomic pathology preferred.
• Superior customer service orientation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates accessioning and preparation of inpatient, outpatient and outreach anatomic pathology specimens by entering patient data and order information into LIS and related systems.
• Provides excellent customer service and transports specimens between lab departments per QA and policy.
• Prioritizes registrations according to patient acuity level determined by clinical staff when appropriate.
• Maintains knowledge to identify insurance plans and updates patient information in the insurance database.
• Ensures completeness and accuracy of registration data and contacts Client Services for missing information as needed.
• Follows safety and identification procedures when dealing with patients and specimens.
