Job summary

Utica Community School District is seeking an Adult Education Tutor (Edustaff) to support evening classes at Walsh Community Education Center in Sterling Heights, MI. You will tutor adult students, focusing on English and Math, and contribute to testing data and progress reporting.

Schedule is 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, for the school year (≈34 weeks). A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience is required, with strong communication and awareness of diverse learner needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
• Communicate clearly and concisely to students, both orally and in writing
• Recognize variations in student backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles
• Ability to work with College and Career Readiness standards and readings
• Complete scoring rubric and assess understanding and comprehension

Responsibilities

• Tutor adult students in English/Math and other subjects as needed
• Testing data and report analysis
• Interact in a friendly and patient manner with students of all levels of language proficiency
• Other duties as assigned by the Director
