Job summary

Walsh Community Education Center in Sterling Heights is seeking part-time Adult Education General Teachers to cover ESL, ABE, or HSE courses. Schedules run Monday–Thursday with day and evening slots.

• Responsible for teaching English as a Second Language, Adult Basic Education, or High School Completion courses using instructional methods geared toward the adult learner in a classroom setting.
• Facilitate an environment that fosters the learning of all students.
• Utilize educational technology to support student’s instruction and learning.
• Develop and deliver daily lesson plans utilizing a broad range of appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies to ensure learners meet or exceed learning targets.
• Analysis of real-time data pertaining to student learning
• Responsible for tracking student progress and communicating to students and administration.
• Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with students, peers, and community.
• Follow policies and procedures outlined by the Supervisor.
• Other duties as assigned.
