Allied Universal in Detroit, MI is seeking a full-time Security Officer for controlled entry operations at a technology, media and telecommunications site. You will staff access points, verify credentials, monitor entry activity, and provide professional customer service.

The role emphasizes attentive, calm responses to incidents, regular patrols, clear communication, and adherence to post orders. Minimums include HS diploma, background check, drug screen, and state licensing where required;

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles (if applicable).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as a condition of employment per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access control systems, verify credentials, manage visitor entry processes, and maintain accurate access-related logs and documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report security-related concerns and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and the Allied Universal team while following post orders, escalation procedures, and applicable reporting requirements.
