Job summary

University of California - San Diego Medical Centers seeks a Surgical Technician for its OR teams at UC San Diego Health. The role supports complex Neurosurgery, Spine, Orthopedics, and Robotic cases within a 12-hour evening shift schedule at Jacobs Medical Center.

Under supervision, you will verify equipment, coordinate with surgeons and vendors, and provide ongoing staff education to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Completion of Accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months.
• At least 1 year of Surgical Technician experience.
• Experience scrubbing complex Neurosurgery, Spine, Orthopedics, and Robotic cases.
• Knowledge of maintaining a therapeutic environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation used in various procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team under supervision of a nurse in multiple specialty areas.
• Verify specialty equipment and inventory and coordinate with surgeons and vendors as needed.
