Job summary

Nexus is seeking a Portable Life Support System (PLSS) Project Engineer to join our team in Houston. You will perform project engineering for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test and certification.

You will analyze customer requirements, develop design solutions, update PLSS work plans with team leadership, design, test, and analyze hardware, assist with troubleshooting, review drawings for NASA standards, and contribute to documentation and TPS creation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
2–5 years of related experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Detailed knowledge of vent loop gas flow rates, pressure management, and PLSS design considerations.

Responsibilities

Perform project engineering functions for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification.
Work in a team environment to analyze requirements from customers and develop design solutions.
Update PLSS work plans and agreements with PLSS Team leadership.
Design, develop, test, implement, and analyze PLSS hardware and test configurations.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues identified during testing and integration.
Review engineering drawings and system specifications to ensure NASA standards compliance.
Contribute to documentation, test reports, hazard analyses, design reviews, procedures, and TPS creation and execution.
