Harbinger Motors in Garden Grove seeks a Powertrain Test Engineer to lead and execute system-level testing of EV powertrains in a dedicated lab environment. You’ll develop dyno and HIL capabilities, instrument test rigs, and partner with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to validate performance and reliability.

The role emphasizes hands-on testing, instrumentation, data acquisition, and robust test planning with a focus on high-voltage EV powertrains.

Competenze

• BS in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or similar with 3+ years in validation testing and system integration.
• Strong understanding of dynamometer operating principles and high-voltage EV powertrains.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, and software integration in test labs.

Mansioni

• Lead and execute component and system-level development and validation testing of electric motors and drive units within the lab.
• Design and architect electric motor and drive unit dynamometers and HIL systems for development testing.
• Source, troubleshoot, and maintain test rig equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Leverage data analysis to reproduce and characterize failures for rapid issue resolution.
• Design, fabricate, and assemble fixtures, adapters, mounts, and tooling for instrumentation and test devices.
• Design and construct electrical control panels for automated test systems.
• Document system designs, schematics, software logic, and test procedures for compliance and knowledge transfer.
