Harbinger Motors Inc. in Garden Grove is seeking a Senior Powertrain Test Engineer to lead development and validation of electric motor and drive-unit tests within a lab environment.

You will drive innovative test methodologies, build robust instrumentation, and develop automated test software focusing on repeatability, efficiency, and safety. Collaboration with hardware, software, and mechanical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7+ years in validation testing and system integration.
• Experience with NI hardware (PXIe-RT, cRIO, cDAQ) and real-time/FPGA modules.
• Understanding of dynamometer principles and high-voltage EV powertrain test cells.
• Proficiency in automation scripting and software development.

Responsibilities

• Lead component and system-level development and validation testing of electric motors and drive units.
• Increase testing efficiency and data integrity via advanced methods and automation.
• Design electrical control panels for automated test systems.
• Develop and maintain automated test software (LabVIEW or equivalent).
• Analyze data to reproduce and characterize failures for rapid resolution.
• Architect dynamometers and HIL systems for development testing.
• Document designs, schematics, and test procedures for compliance.
