Job summary

Harbinger Motors in California seeks an experienced Firmware Engineer to design bare-metal and RTOS firmware for EV motor control systems. You will optimize BSPs, implement high-frequency control algorithms, and ensure deterministic, safe operation of powertrains.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in embedded firmware development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for resource-constrained embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
• Solid understanding of motor control algorithms, DSP, and PID tuning.
• Familiarity with CAN, SPI, I2C, UART.

Responsibilities

• Firmware Architecture & Development: design and maintain deterministic embedded firmware for motor control systems.
• BSP & Driver Configuration: optimize BSPs and write low-level drivers.
• Algorithm Implementation: deploy and tune high-frequency control algorithms (FOC).
• System Optimization: improve CPU efficiency, reduce latency, and manage memory footprint.
• Testing & Validation: perform testing with real-time simulation and HIL environments.
• Cross-Functional Integration: collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate firmware.
• Documentation: produce comprehensive firmware design and testing docs.
