Job summary

General Motors is seeking an experienced High Voltage Power Electronics PCB Designer to own PCB design and layout for Traction Inverter systems and other high‑voltage electronics. The role collaborates with PCB Release Engineering, EMC, Manufacturing and Quality to ensure robust designs.

The position involves designing physical layouts, routing, DRC/DFM checks, and close cooperation with circuit, system, and packaging engineers to meet performance, power, area and manufacturability goals, with a

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum 4 years of PCB layout design experience.
Experience creating and releasing PCB designs with eCAD Xpedition.
Experience in automotive power electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop PCB layouts for Traction Inverter and high-voltage power electronics.
Place and route components, traces, and other elements to ensure functionality and performance.
Conduct DRC and DFM checks to meet specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
Collaborate with circuit designers, system engineers, and packaging engineers to optimize layout requirements.
Develop ECAD library parts meeting GM DFM and resiliency requirements.
Create release drawings for PCB designs.
